Carl Edwards finished 10th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Showdown race which did not allow him to transfer to the All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

However, the fans saved him. Edwards won the Fan Vote through NASCAR.com and will race in the main event tonight.

Elliott Sadler and A.J. Allmendinger were also close runner-ups in the Fan Vote and neither one raced in through the Showdown so they will not be in the field.

The green flag for the All-Star race is scheduled to fly at 9:10pm ET.
