This weekend the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series has traveled from the mountainous landscape in Pocono to the rolling Irish hills of Michigan. The best of NASCAR's best will be joined by the hardcore hot shoes of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series while the NASCAR Nationwide Series takes on the 1.5-mile oval of Kentucky Speedway.
As the NASCAR heads into the summer months the heat of the championship hunt is getting steamy as well. Kevin Harvick is still on top of the standings but Kyle Busch is closing in with only a 19 point gap between him and that coveted top spot. Denny Hamlin is lurking 136 points behind Harvick in 3rd place after jumping two spots last weekend at Pocono after taking the checkered flag for the fourth time this season. Meanwhile, in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, the Cup regulars are dominating the point standings with Brad Keselowski sitting at the top with a 196-point lead over Kyle Busch in second place. Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick are currently third and fourth with Justin Allgaier rounding out the top-5. Allgaier is the only strictly Nationwide Series driver in the bunch.
The terrors of the Truck Series are ready to take on the 2-mile Michigan surface with Todd Bodine leading the pack with a 65-point lead over second place Aric Almirola. Timothy Peters is third in the standings while reigning champion Ron Hornaday sits in fourth.
