Jimmie Johnson Sweeps Saturday Cup Practices

jimmie-johnsonJimmie Johnson recorded the fastest laps in both NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice sessions Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in preparation of Sunday's Lenox Industrial Tools 301.

 

Johnson led the morning session with a fast lap at 129.692 and topped the afternoon session, taking a run around the one-mile oval at 130.590 mph in Happy Hour.

 

 

Jeff Burton posted the second fastest lap at 129.121 mph in final practice, with Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart clocking third, fourth and fifth quick.

 

Polesitter Juan Pablo Montoya topped the speed chart in the first practice of the weekend, held during Friday's noon hour, with a lap at 132.429 mph. Jimmie Johnson was second at 132.044 mph.
