Robby Gordon topped the speed chart in an eventful Sprint Cup Happy Hour at Daytona International Speedway Thursday evening. Gordon clocked in at 195.126 mph in the final practice that was cut short due to rain showers.
Greg Biffle was second with a lap at 194.317 mph. Marcos Ambrose, Kasey Kahne and A.J. Allmendinger completed the top five. Rain halted the practice session during a red flag period that was brought out after Kyle Busch made contact with JGR teammate Denny Hamlin. Busch continued while Hamlin collected the cars of Reed Sorenson, Robert Richardson, Jr. and Tony Stewart. Joey Logano circled DIS at 193.932 mph to lead opening practice earlier Thursday. The first practice also included it's share of mangled machinery as Kyle Busch, David Ragan and Kasey Kahne were forced to back ups after crashing their primary cars. Sprint Cup Series qualifying gets underway at 4:10 pm Friday, July 2, 2010. MORE NASCAR NEWS
