Juan Pablo Montoya, the 2000 Indy 500 winner, won the pole for Sunday's Brickyard 400 with a lap of 182.278 mph. This is Montoya's first career pole at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Last year's Brickyard 400 winner Jimmie Johnson qualified second with a lap of 182.142.
Mark Martin, Jamie McMurray and Ryan Newman line up third through fifth on the starting grid. Qualifying sixth through tenth were Clint Boywer, Greg Biffle, Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, and Jeff Burton. David Stremme, Marcos Ambrose, Kevin Conway and J.J Yeley did not make the Brickyard 400 field. Hardcore race fans can see the Brickyard 400 live Sunday at 1p.m./ET on ESPN.
