Ryan Newman and Denny Hamlin have admitted they were fined by NASCAR for making damaging comments about the sport.
The Associated Press reported earlier this week that one of the drivers had been fined as much as $50,000. Denny Hamlin did not deny he paid the heavy penalty. "There's been illegal parts in the garage that haven't gotten penalized like I did," Hamlin said.
The Joe Gibbs Racing driver made negative remarks at Michigan regarding a late race caution for debris. "No, I didn't see any debris, but I understand it's show business. I'm not saying it's accepted, but what can you do,?" Hamlin said after winning the Michigan race. Newman says he has put the situation behind him. “I’m over it. It’s behind me. It’s behind Denny right now,” said Newman. MORE NASCAR NEWS
