Ryan Newman set the pace in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Happy Hour at Bristol Motor Speedway Friday afternoon with a fast lap of 121.190 mph.

Carl Edwards turned the second fastest lap, touring the high-banked half-mile at 121.022 mph.

David Gilliland, quickest in opening practice earlier in the day, was third on the speed chart followed by Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon.

Matt Kenseth, Jamie McMurray, Juan Pablo Montoya, Jeff Burton and A. J. Allmendinger completed the top-10 in Happy Hour.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying is scheduled to begin at 5:40 pm ET.
