terry-labonteTwo-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Terry Labonte has joined forces with Bill Stavola to form Stavola Labonte Racing with the new team set to debut at Richmond this weekend. Terry Labonte will pilot the No. 10 Gander Mountain Chevrolet in a total of three Sprint Cup events by the end of the season, according to a release issued by the team.

"I think we're all anxious to get out there and see how it goes," said Labonte. "We got some help from Richard Childress Racing and their group. Everyone knows that they have been extremely competitive this season. That gives us confidence that we have a good car to go to the track with."

Stavola fielded a Sprint Cup team for several years prior to exiting the sport as a car owner in 1998. Dick Trickle, Jeff Burton and Bobby Allison have driven Stavola prepared cars.

"I'm really looking forward to this weekend and putting that 'owner cap' back on," said Stavola. "It's been a long time, but we're ready. This is a great opportunity to go back with folks like Terry, Gander Mountain and American Cement. There are so many people to thank, but the help from our sponsors and Richard Childress from the competition side have been amazing."
