Denny Hamlin made headway in the Chase by winning Sunday's Tums Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Hamlin now trails championship leader Jimmie Johnson by six points with four races remaining on the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule.

Hamlin started from the pole and overcame problems with his car that pushed him as far back as 15th in the 43-car field. The four-time Martinsville winner came back to take the lead from Kevin Harvick with about 30 laps to go.

Mark Martin finished second followed by Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch and Johnson.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series goes to Talladega Superspeedway next weekend.
