NASCAR Truck, Nationwide and Sprint Cup teams are all in Phoenix this weekend ready to battle on the 1-mile flat track in the desert. The Chase is heating up with Denny Hamlin leading Jimmie Johnson by 33 points and Sunday's Kobalt Tools 500 could play a major role in the outcome of the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup championship race.
The action at Phoenix International Raceway begins Thursday with the Camping World Series drivers getting on track for two rounds of practice, set for 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm. Friday will be a busy day at PIR with opening Nationwide Series practice at noon followed by the first practice for Sprint Cup drivers at 2:00 pm. The final Nationwide practice gets underway at 3:40 pm while Truck Series drivers qualify at 4:30 pm immediately followed by Sprint Cup qualifying at 5:45 pm. The 150-lap Camping World Truck Series race takes the green at 8:00 pm. SPEED will broadcast the Nationwide practices, Truck Series qualifying and race, ESPN 2 is taking care of Sprint Cup qualifying. Nationwide Series qualifying opens Saturday's activities at noon with Sprint Cup practices scheduled for 1:30 pm and 2:50 pm. The 200-mile Nationwide Series race rolls off at 4:30 pm. SPEED is carrying live coverage of Nationwide qualifying and the first Sprint Cup practice, ESPN2 takes over for the second Sprint Cup practice and the Nationwide race. Sunday's Kobalt Tools 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race will be televised live from Phoenix International Raceway at 3:00 pm on ESPN. All times are eastern. MORE NASCAR NEWS
