With engines roaring back to life, the 2011 NASCAR season took its first steps recently with testing at the freshly repaved Daytona International Speedway. The sound of paving equipment was replaced with the squeal of fresh tires, as more than two dozen drivers tested the new track surface.
And where the rubber meets the road, there was nothing but praise for the new surface. Finished ahead of schedule, the repaving project means better grip and hopefully fewer embarrassing moments for track officials.
Commenting on the new track improvements are Jamie McMurray, Jeff Burton, and Kurt Bush.
