ARCA driver Sean Corr is ready for the 2011 ARCA to get started. The 26-year-old New York native was the first to arrive at the Daytona International Speedway for the upcoming three-day ARCA test after driving the Empire Racing team transporter south on Interstate 95 Saturday night.
"I’d rather drive the hauler and allow the guys who bust their tails to get our Ford Fusion ready the ability to recharge themselves,” Corr said after pulling into Daytona early Sunday morning.
Corr plans to run the full ARCA schedule this season with an eye on the series title and is anxious to get the No. 82 Ford Fusion on the track when practice gets underway Tuesday morning. “I’m ready for Daytona, even though it’s just a test,” said Corr. “The desire and “want” from this Empire Racing team is like a disease. A favorable one. We want it and we’re going for it. I have a good feeling about the car we’re bringing to the track and hope we can unload in a zone that we’re comfortable with and just improve as the week progresses.” Former ARCA competitor Richard Johns has been named crew chief for Empire Racing and the team has a Roush Yates engine under the hood for speedweeks. The Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 will be live on SPEED Saturday, February 12, 2011. MORE NASCAR NEWS
