Kyle Fowler paced Tuesday's opening day of the three-day ARCA Racing Series test session at Daytona International Raceway.
The 18-year-old Georgia native drove a Venturini Motorsports prepared Chevrolet at 184.460 mph to top the speed chart during his first visit to the 2.5-mile superspeedway. "I didn't expect that," said Fowler. "This is my first time here, but the guys have been putting a lot of hard work and effort into it. I'm certainly pleased with it, obviously." Venturini Motorsports occupied the top-three positions on the leader board at the conclusion of on track activities with Steve Arpin second at 184.441 mph and Hal Martin third at 183.146 mph. Tim George, Jr. was fourth in a Richard Childress Racing Development Chevrolet while Chris Buescher, quickest in the morning session, completed the top-five. Testing for ARCA Series teams will resume Wednesday morning. MORE NASCAR NEWS
