 The long anticipated three-day NASCAR Sprint Cup test and Preseason Thunder Fan Fest starts today at Daytona International Speedway.
Sprint Cup teams are scheduled to take to the track from 9 am until 5 pm ET Thursday, Friday and Saturday. “The upcoming test at Daytona should go a long way in helping the teams get their setups right for next month’s Speedweeks,” said Robin Pemberton, NASCAR’s vice president of competition. “We received a lot of positive feedback from the competitors about the new racing surface at Daytona following the Goodyear tire test last month. We believe the 53rd running of the Daytona 500 has all the makings of being the most exciting one we’ve ever seen.” The 2011 Fan Fest takes place in the Sprint FanZone at Daytona Thursday from 6 pm until 8 pm Thursday and 5 pm until 7 pm and 7 pm until 9 pm on Friday. Hardcore race fans will be admitted free to watch the three-day on track test sessions.
