ganassi-no-01Car-owner Chip Ganassi returned to Daytona's Victory Lane Sunday to celebrate his one-two finish in the 24 Hours of Daytona. Defending Grand-Am champion Scott Pruett crossed the finish line 2.07 seconds ahead of his Ganassi Racing teammate Scott Dixon to claim the organization's fourth victory in America's longest automobile race.

Pruett's win incorporated pit strategy in the final hour which enabled the four-time Daytona Prototype winner to remain ahead of the second Ganassi entry. A full-course caution for debris in the late stages set the field for a one-lap sprint to the finish with Pruett pulling away on the restart.

Pruett, Graham Rahal, Memo Rojas and Joey Hand shared driving duties in bringing the No. 01 to victory while Jamie McMurray teamed with Juan Pablo Montoya, Dario Franchitti and Dixon in the No. 02 to complete the Ganassi sweep.

"It's just truly awesome," said Pruett. "Having a 1-2 finish like this is unbelievable."

Andy Lally, along with co-drivers Steven Bertheau, Brendan Gaughan, Wolf Henzler and Spencer Pumpelly won the GT class.
