Bobby Gerhart won the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 ARCA Series race a record seventh time Saturday afternoon at Daytona International Speedway. Gerhart held off Chris Buescher on the final restart with 10 laps remaining to claim the victory.

Buescher followed Gerhart across the lin to finish second with Matt Merrell, Ricky Carmichael and Jason Bowles completing the top-five. Chad McCumbee finished eighth and polesitter Ty Dillon ninth.

Gerhart made a fuel stop on lap five of the 80-lap event and did not return to pit road, a strategy that paid off for the wiley veteran.

"You have to take a gamble now and then," Gerhart said of the plan that took him to Victory Lane. "And that's what we did, we took a gamble."
