NASCAR Is Plentiful In Las Vegas

Las-VegasHardcore race fans visiting Las Vegas on a budget this weekend have a lot of options to choose from without forking over the green. Free admission to Nationwide practice, driver autograph sessions, a parade, show car appearances and pit crew demonstrations are on the table for the taking.

 

Admission to Thursday’s two NASCAR Nationwide Series practice sessions, set for 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway is free. Trevor Bayne, Justin Allgaier, Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski, Mark Martin, Danica Patrick, Elliott Sadler, Kenny Wallace and Steven Wallace will sign autographs from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the track’s Neon Garage.

 

Tony Stewart will meet race fans at the Office Depot, located at 1435 West Craig Road in North Las Vegas at 12:30 p.m. Thursday. The NASCAR Hauler Parade, with about 50 of the eighteen-wheel rigs participating, begins at the South Point at 6 p.m. and moves down the strip to Sahara Ave. and onto Interstate 15 towards the track. Oh what a sight, make sure to take your camera.

 

Matt Kenseth will conduct an autograph signing at the MGM Grand at 6 p.m. Kenseth’s No. 17 Roush Fenway Ford will be on display near the entrance of Studio 54. Robby Gordon’s meet and greet at Carnival Court at Harrah's is also set for a 6 p.m. start. Michael Waltrip and David Reutimann are scheduled to appear at The Pub at Monte Carlo and sign autographs from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening while Kyle Busch will be at M&M’s World on the strip from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Brad Keselowski will sign autographs at PT’s Sierra Gold, 6515 South Jones Blvd, at 7 p.m.

 

Race fans are invited to Sam’s Town for a live Q&A session with five-time Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson. The one-hour session begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be hosted by Chris Myers of Fox Sports. Johnson will not be signing autographs at the Q&A session. Kyle Petty and Ryan Newman will be signing for fans 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at Hard Rock, just prior to the Victory Junction Texas Hold ‘em Poker Tournament at 7:30 p.m.

 

Friday’s offerings include a Q&A with Kurt Busch at 10:30 a.m. in the Sprint Experience at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Harry Gant’s one-hour autograph session begins at 2:30 p.m. in the Neon Garage and Bobby Labonte starts signing at 6 p.m. at The Pub at Monte Carlo. David Reutimann and Regan Smith will be at the Suncoast from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

 

Greg Biffle, David Ragan and Jeff Hammond are answering fans questions at Sam’s Town from 8 p.m. until 9 p.m. during the second Q&A session hosted by Chris Myers. Doors open at 7 p.m. The Black Alley Bar, located in the Stratosphere will host Jeff Green, Jennifer Jo Cobb, Jeffrey Earnhardt, Matt Crafton, Eric McClure, Mike Bliss, Carl Long, Robert Richardson Jr., Dave Blaney, Mike Skinner, Timothy Peters, Michael McDowell, Charles Lewandoski and Timmy Hill at 8 p.m. Nationwide Series driver Scott Wimmer is scheduled to meet race fans at the Springhill Suites in Henderson at 8:30 p.m. Friday evening.

 

Harry Gant returns to the Neon Garage Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and will be joined by NHRA Funny Car champion John Force. Gant and Force will sign autographs for one hour. Juan Pablo Montoya will be at Deer Springs Town Center, North 5th St. & 215 Beltway, from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. with pit crew demonstrations starting at 4 p.m. Joey Logano appears at Home Depot, located at 855 East Dorrell Lane, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

 

Don't forget, there is also the Sam’s Town 300 at noon on Saturday and the Kobalt Tools 400 at noon on Sunday. All times are local.
