Matt Kenseth led a contingent of Roush Fenway Racing drivers in Friday's opening NASCAR Sprint Cup practice for Sunday's Kobalt Tools 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Four Roush Fenway Fords were listed in the top-five on the speed chart at the completion of the 90-minute practice session.
Kenseth clocked in at 186.599 mph with teammate David Ragan at 186.297 mph. Juan Pablo Montoya's lap of 185.957 mph placed the Earnhardt-Ganassi driver third on the leader board.
Carl Edwards was fourth quick at 185.893 mph and Greg Biffle fifth.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying for the Kobalt Tools 500 is scheduled Friday at 6:40 p.m. ET.
