NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kurt Busch spent the off weekend making his Pro Stock debut in the NHRA Gatornationals, an annual event in Gainesville, Florida. Busch lost Sunday's opening round to Erica Enders by a thin margin.
Enders ran the Gainesville strip in 6.538 seconds to Busch's 6.541 after posting a much better reaction time off the starting line, Enders 0.021 to Busch's 0.04.
"We just came up short," said Busch. "It's three-hundredths of a second, and in this game of drag racing, that's enough to put you back on the trailer."
Busch spent time meeting and talking with fans, posing for pictures and enjoying the festive atmosphere of an NHRA weekend.
"This is a weekend that I'll never forget," Busch said.
Busch is contemplating entering the NHRA race in Denver on the Sprint Cup off weekend in July.
