Wet weather hampered scheduled NASCAR practice sessions at Auto Club Speedway Friday afternoon. Rain moved out of the area earlier but problems with water drainage continued to be an issue.

NASCAR officials allowed Sprint Cup drivers on the track around 5 p.m. ET with the session cut short after Kyle Busch crashed in turn four just minutes later. Busch's No. 18 Toyota received heavy damage.

David Reutimann rested atop the leader board with an average speed of 186.143 mph around the two-mile oval. Denny Hamlin was second with a lap at 184.886 mph.

The Auto Club Speedway has suffered in the past with water seeping onto the track surface. NASCAR and track officials are working to resolve the problems and hope to resume on track activity shortly.
