Jamie McMurray earned his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series short track pole award during Saturday's qualifying session at Martinsville Speedway for Sunday's Goody's Fast Relief 500.

McMurray's fast lap at 96.509 mph beat Ryan Newman's lap at 96.342 mph to clinch his first pole start of the 2011 season.

Kasey Kahne qualified third followed by Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin.

A. J. Allmendinger, Bobby Labonte, David Reutimann, Kevin Harvick and Regan Smith line up sixth through tenth on Sunday's grid.

The Goody's Fast Relief 500 is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. Sunday.
