Texas native David Starr is making final preparations for his NASCAR Sprint Cup debut in the Samsung Mobile 500 at Texas Motor Speedway this Sunday. Starr will drive the #95 Leavine Fenton Racing Ford with sponsorship from Texas-based companies B&D Electrical, TWD Drywall, WRL General Contractors, Ltd. and Fenton Motor Group.

Starr has driven in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series since 1998 and will be fulfulling his childhood dream this weekend.

"Ever since I was a little boy, I wanted to attempt to qualify for a Cup race," shared Starr. "The ultimate dream is to race in the biggest series in the world, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. I can't make the word be big enough to what it means. I'm just honored, proud, and blessed to have the opportunity to do that with good equipment."

Leavine Fenton Racing was formed by fellow Texans Bob Leavine and Lance Fenton earlier this year. The team is using Roush chassis with Roush Yates Engines and plans to run a limited Cup and Truck schedule in 2011.

"I am excited about our new NASCAR Cup team," Leavine said. "There are some opportunities now in NASCAR that may never come around again, and we are blessed to be in a position to take advantage of those opportunities. There are several things I expect to get out of this venture but top on the list is to enjoy myself around a great group of people at NASCAR."

Wally Rogers has been hired as crew chief and Mark Gregory is the team spotter. The Over The Wall Crew from Mooresville, North Carolina will provide pit service on Sunday.
