Jeff Gordon and Mark Martin were fastest in the rain shortened Sprint Cup Happy Hour Friday afternoon at Talladega Superspeedway.

Gordon's fastest lap of 190.412 mph matched that of Martin followed by Travis Kvapil and Denny Hamlin.

Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman topped the speed chart in the opening Sprint Cup practice session. Stewart posted a fast lap at 194.239 with Newman touring the 2.66-mile superspeedway at 194.235 mph.

Qualifying for Sunday's Aaron's 499 will be Saturday morning at 11:30 am ET.
