NASCAR Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series teams return to action Friday and Saturday at Richmond International Raceway while Camping World Truck Series drivers have the week off. The .750-mile D-shaped oval in the Capitol City has a long history of great racing and this weekend will be no different.
Kyle Busch has won the last two spring races at Richmond and will be looking to make it three straight on Saturday night. Brad Keselowski is the defending champion of the Bubba Burger 250 Nationwide race.
Carl Edwards remains your Sprint Cup point leader with Jimmie Johnson five points back in second. Dale Jr. sits third, Kevin Harvick fourth and Kurt Busch fifth. Justin Allgaier leads the Nationwide point standings heading to Richmond.
Nationwide drivers kick off on-track activities at RIR Friday morning with their lone practice session from 9:00 a.m. until 11:50 a.m. followed by a two-hour Sprint Cup practice at noon. Sprint Cup Happy Hour begins at 2:45 p.m. with Nationwide qualifying at 4:10 p.m. Sprint Cup qualifying begins at 5:30 p.m. and the Bubba Burger 250 will get the green shortly after 7:30 p.m. Driver introductions start at 7:00 p.m. If you won’t be at the track Friday, watch the full day live on SPEED.
Saturday night’s Crown Royal 400 Sprint Cup race will be televised live from Richmond International Raceway on FOX at 7:30 p.m. Driver introductions begin at 7:00 p.m. All times are eastern.
