Gary Showalter has spent most of his life working on race cars. The veteran crew chief established himself in the ASA Series before leaving his native Amherst, Ohio and moving south to NASCAR country in 1998.
Showalter has worked with a number of drivers during his career including Butch Miller, Kenny Irwin, Jeff Burton, Coy Gibbs, Terry Cook and Mike Bliss. Currently calling the shots for Scott Wimmer and the No. 40 Key Motorsports Nationwide Series team, Gary recently took a few minutes from his busy schedule to give hardcore race fans an inside look at what it takes to make it to the track every week.
