Kansas & Chicago Host Weekend of NASCAR Fun

NASCAR heads west this weekend with the Sprint Cup and Camping World Truck Series in Kansas while the Nationwide & ARCA Series will be at Chicagoland Speedway.

 

Carl Edwards carries a 36-point advantage over Kevin Harvick in the 2011 Sprint Cup standings while Elliott Sadler holds a one-point lead over Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in the Nationwide Series point battle. Rookie Cole Whitt is continuing to be impressive as he leads the Truck Series point race going into Kansas.

 

A full day of racing begins Friday in Kansas at 11:20 a.m. with Truck Series practice followed by Sprint Cup practice at 12:30 p.m. Final practice for the Trucks begin at 2 p.m. in Kansas while final practice for the ARCA race in Chicago will begin at 2:30 p.m. Final Cup practice takes place at 3:30 p.m. and the Nationwide Series ends the day in Chicago with two practice sessions, the first at 5 p.m. and final session at 7:30 p.m.

 

Saturday begins in Kansas with qualifying for both the Truck and Cup Series at 9:40 a.m. and 11:10 a.m. respectively on SPEED. The Camping World Truck Series drivers take the stage next as they hit the track for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 on SPEED beginning at 1 p.m. with driver intros beginning at 12:30 p.m. Back in Chicago ARCA qualifying starts at 1:30 p.m. and Nationwide qualifying gets underway at 3:35 p.m. The ARCA race is at 5:00 p.m. with driver intros beginning at 4:30 p.m. followed by the STP 300 at 7 p.m.

 

A busy weekend of racing concludes in Kansas with the STP 400 live on FOX at 12:00 p.m. This is the last race for FOX as the TV coverage will move to TNT for the next 6 races beginning next week in Pocono. All times are local/central time.
