Hendrick Motorsports announced Tuesday the signing of a multi-year agreement with Farmers Insurance as majority sponsor of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star Kasey Kahne and the No. 5 Chevrolet beginning in 2012.

The three-year agreement includes primary sponsorship of Kahne for 22 events with a prominent presence in the remaining races each season through 2014.

“I’ve had a chance to meet the Farmers people, and they’re doing some exciting new things from a marketing standpoint,” said Kahne, who is signed to drive for Hendrick Motorsports through 2015. “I’m looking forward to being a part of their team and helping grow the Farmers brand. To have this kind of support, and to have it come together so early, is such a boost for all of us.”

Kahne’s Sprint Cup resume includes 11 wins, 21 poles, 51 top-fives and 92 top-10's after seven full seasons of competition.

The design for the No. 5 Farmers Insurance Chevrolet will be released at a later date.
