Road racing pro Boris Said will be behind the wheel of the No. 51 Phoenix Racing Chevrolet for Sunday's Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway. Said will be making his 12th NASCAR Sprint Cup start at the 1.99-mile road course in California.
"I feel like I hit the lottery," said the Carlsbad, California native. “There are only 43 people that get to go Cup racing each weekend. For me to get this opportunity, especially being more of a road racer, it’s a real honor. I’m looking forward to it and cherish the chance to get in one of the cars. We’ll go out and do our best."
Said’s Sprint Cup record at Infineon includes a pole in 2003 and sixth-place finishes in 2003 and 2004 with a total of five top-10's. Said scored his first major NASCAR victory with a Truck Series win at Infineon in 1998.
