Mark Martin captured his 50th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series pole in Friday's qualifying for Saturday night's Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway. Martin's edged Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne for the top starting spot with a lap at 182.065 mph.

“This is really special because I know how much work goes into the four restrictor-plate races each year by Hendrick Motorsports,” Martin said.

Clint Bowyer qualified third for tomorrow's race followed by Jeff Gordon and David Ragan.

J.J. Yeley and Tony Raines did not make the 43-car field.
