A rainy weekend in Pocono tried to derail the Chase battle but it wasn’t just rain the winner had overcome. Brad Keselowski, who crashed hard during a test last week at Road Atlanta, also had the pain of a broken ankle to deal with during Sunday’s 500-mile race at Pocono.
The checkered flag in Pocono signals just five races before the Chase begins. After weeks of trying to get into the top-20, Brad’s win helps to secure a Chase spot if he can remain there until Richmond. This puts more pressure on Dale, Jr., who is winless in 10th, Denny Hamlin, who has one win and is sitting 11th, and Paul Menard, who will need to win more races if he is to make the Chase.
Things are getting more interesting as the Chase continues to draw closer and we’ll see who else will make noise as the Race to The Chase heads to Watkins Glen.
