NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams make their second trip of the season to the Irish hills of Michigan this weekend as the Chase draws near. The stars of the Camping World Truck Series join Sprint Cup drivers at the 2-mile Michigan International Speedway while the Nationwide Series travels north of the border to the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada.
The weekend kicks off Friday in Montreal with two Nationwide practice sessions, at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. respectively.
Back in Michigan Truck Series practice begins at 11 a.m. followed by Sprint Cup practice at 12 noon. Truck Series Happy Hour gets underway at 1:40 p.m. with Sprint Cup qualifying rolling off at 3:40 p.m. SPEED will broadcast Friday’s action live from Michigan International Speedway.
Race fans heading to Michigan this weekend that hold one of the 750 golden “All Access” member tickets have the opportunity to participate in a special autograph session with Sprint Cup Series drivers on Friday beginning at 5:00 p.m. Participating drivers include five-time Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Matt Kenseth, David Ragan, David Reutimann, Travis Kvapil, David Gilliland and Brian Vickers. Saturday’s action begins with Truck Series qualifying in Michigan at 9:10 a.m., with final practice for the Sprint Cup Series taking place at 10:10 a.m. The day wraps up in Michigan with the VFW 200 starting at 12:00 noon on SPEED. Driver introductions also begin at 12:00 p.m.
Saturday’s NAPA Auto Parts 200 Nationwide race will be live on ESPN beginning with the NASCAR Countdown at 2:00 p.m.
Sunday’s Pure Michigan 400 Sprint Cup race goes live on ESPN starting with the NASCAR Countdown at 12:00 noon. All times are eastern.
