Greg Biffle starts Sunday's Pure Michigan 400 NASCAR Nationwide Series race from the pole after posting the fastest lap in Friday's qualifying session at Michigan International Speedway.
Biffle ran a lap at 190.345 mph to capture his first pole win since 2008.
The Roush Fenway driver, like most in the garage, has the Chase on his mind this weekend.
"We have to have a win to get in the Chase, that is obvious," said Biffle. "Here, Bristol and Atlanta are good tracks for us. This is probably our best and this may be our best opportunity. Here or Atlanta. This is a huge deal for us and huge momentum for us going into Sunday."
Commenting on Monday's confrontation with Boris Said at Watkins Glen Biffle shared, "We said our piece, and that is it. Our deal is over with. We talked about that on the phone, and it is over."
Matt Kenseth clocked a lap at 190.209 mph and starts on the outside of teammate Biffle.
Ryan Newman lines up third on Sunday's grid followed by Denny Hamlin and Mark Martin.
Brad Keselowski, David Ragan, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon and Jamie McMurray complete the top-10.
ESPN will broadcast Sunday's Pure Michigan 400 live with coverage beginning at noon eastern.
