kyle-busch-wins-michiganKyle Busch outran Jimmie Johnson on a green-white-checkered restart to win Sunday's Pure Michigan 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway. With the win Busch becomes the first driver to secure a spot in the 2011 Chase for the Sprint Cup.

"What do you know, I finally win one," Kyle Busch told his crew on the radio after capturing his fourth victory of the 2011 season.

Busch passed Johnson for the lead with 14 laps remaining and was pulling away when Kurt Busch hit the wall on lap 198 of the 200-lap race. Kyle Busch lined up on the outside of Johnson on the lap 201 restart and rode the high side to NASCAR career win number 101.

Johnson settled for second with Brad Keselowski, Mark Martin and Ryan Newman completing the top five.

Carl Edwards, who entered the weekend tied with Kyle Busch at the top of the point standings, finished 36th after having engine problems.
