Well for the past week in NASCAR there has been no shortage of things to talk about. The week started with a really interesting road course race at Watkins Glen on Monday. This event seemed like it morphed into a short track race somewhere along the way.
Bumping and banging, pushing and shoving. Guys getting out of the car and wanting to “whomp” one another.
Boris Said saying he wanted Greg Biffle's address so he could go confront him. Greg Biffle saying (when asked by Claire B. Lang), “I wanted to kick his ass”! Was this not Bristol?
Fast forward to the weekend and we had events in Michigan and Montreal. During the truck race at Michigan we saw lots of carnage, but no one on camera wanting to take someone out.
I only watched part of the Sprint Cup race yesterday, but it seemed pretty tame. Carl Edwards took a bit of a fall down the points list after early troubles, but Kyle Busch is now poised to be the point’s leader to start the Chase after winning his series leading fourth race of the year.
Once again however, the Nationwide race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal took over the spotlight of the weekend (seemed like Bristol again) with lots of rooting, gouging, beating and banging. This is a very narrow, difficult looking road course but there were cars every lap bouncing off of something. Tremendous excitement was the forte of the race, and once again when the cars had returned to pit road after the race….. there was an altercation.
As Steven Wallace sat in his car on pit road, a crew member from another team reached in the car and pulled his hair! Who does that? Really, pulled his hair, catfights here we come. That was about the “girliest” thing I have ever seen at a race other than a few poorly thrown punches!
Either way we have been treated to quite a bit of excitement this racing week, and with Bristol racing Wednesday through Saturday night; the best may still be coming!!
Gotta run for now, time to get ready for work and the real world.
Until next time keep the shiny side up!
