Well Bristol Motor Speedway is now in the rear view mirror of the 2011 NASCAR Series. The Nationwide race had a tremendous finish which was Kyle Busch’s record setting 50th win. A great accomplishment coming just a few days after making himself look like a bit of a fool in the Truck race.

Kyle Busch drove up into Elliot Sadler, crashing himself then circling slowly to deliver retribution to Mr. Sadler. He then turned around and made false comments about Kevin Harvick being the Truck owner. Not one of his better moments.

The hottest driver on the Sprint Cup circuit would have to be Brad Keselowski. After winning his second race during the month of August, he has worked himself all the way to 11th in points, only 21 out of the regular chase point standings. His worst finish this month? Third ……truly awesome. Expect him to make his way to 10th or better by the time Richmond wraps up.

So the announcement has been made official. Danica Patrick has confirmed she will be a Nationwide full timer next season and a Sprint Cup part timer. She has shown quite a bit of improvement in stock cars over her starts this year, so let’s see what she does in a full time capacity in 2012. It was also revealed that she would be full time in the Sprint Cup series in 2013. I hope she has much success……

Well I am definitely looking forward to the next two race weekends as the “Race to the Chase” is becoming increasingly interesting as the regular season winds down. The seeding is still very much in the air and the wild card spots maybe even more so. It’s still very much wide open.

Well that’s all for me this week, I hope race fans on the east coast have made it through hurricane Irene safely. I watched with great interest as my wife and daughter are currently in Middletown, NY……

Until next time, keep the shiny part up!
