NASCAR Labor Day Weekend Schedule for Atlanta

NASCAR heads to Atlanta for a busy Labor Day celebration with Sprint Cup Series teams being joined by the Nationwide and Truck Series for another triple header weekend.

 

Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson are tied atop the Sprint Cup point standings with two races remaining before the Chase. Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. holds a slim lead over Elliott Sadler in the Nationwide Series battle where just 10 points separate the top three while Johnny Sauter holds a seven point advantage over James Buescher.

 

The action in Atlanta gets started Friday with two Camping World Truck Series practice sessions at 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. respectively. Truck Series qualifying begins at 5:05 p.m. followed by opening Sprint Cup practice at 6:00 p.m. The Atlanta 200 truck race will be live on SPEED with the Setup at 7:00 p.m. Driver introductions begin at 7:30 p.m.

 

Its rise and shine for Nationwide Series drivers Saturday with two practice sessions, the first at 8:30 a.m. and the second at 9:45 a.m. Sprint Cup Happy Hour takes place at 1:30 p.m. followed by Nationwide qualifying at 3:35 p.m. Sprint Cup qualifying is scheduled for 5:10 p.m. with the Great Clips 300 Nationwide race going live on ESPN with driver introductions and NASCAR Countdown beginning at 7:00 p.m.

 

Sunday Night wraps up a Labor Day weekend full of action, beginning with a pre-race concert by Country Superstar Darius Rucker at 5:30 p.m. ESPN's coverage of the AdvoCare 500 begins at 7:00 p.m. with the NASCAR Countdown. Driver introductions also begin at 7:00 p.m. All times are eastern.
