Well, I didn’t get to watch much of the race at all from Atlanta (being that it was a rare Tuesday make up race), but from what I listened to on the radio on the way in to work and the pieces I saw on tv; it might seem as if we’ve hit a time warp and gone back in time a few years.
Jeff Gordon really has asserted himself this year, looking like a pretty solid candidate to dethrone the Chad and Jimmy train. Of course that would still make it a Hendrick title. Jeff was very solid right from the green flag, and looked almost invincible late when his teammate Jimmy was trying to get by. Maybe we are all in for a points championship treat like 1992. Now that most of the silly season has wound down, it still amazes me that nothing has been set for Clint Bowyer this late in the season. Makes me wonder if the rumors of him ending up somewhere other than Childress’s might have some merit.
Also, what about Mark Martin? Sure seems like his name keeps getting thrown around for this and for that, but Mark don’t seem to have a whole lot to say about any of it. Hmmmmmm…… I hope that all of our awesome fan’s that were in the Atlanta area got through the storm okay on Sunday and Monday, I know it got pretty hairy in the ATL.
Well, that’s all for me this week, until next week, keep the shiny part up!
