Well first things first. Let’s all take just a moment and once again reflect on the events of 10 years ago. We can never allow ourselves to forget that tragic morning in New York City…….

Richmond has come and gone, and while none of the Chase spots really changed at all, it doesn’t mean that the race was not filled with drama, action and just plain great racing. Richmond seems like it may be the perfect type track for NASCAR. High speeds like an intermediate speedway, but all the feel of a bump and grind short track. How can one ask for more?

Silly season continues with the biggest player who’s future still remains unknown is Clint Bowyer. Some feel that Richard Childress has all but said he is out the door, others that it’s just a matter of time before his staying put is announced. Personally, I’m not sure what to think. Hard to imagine him racing somewhere else, plus where would he go.

Richard Petty’s team does seem like a potential front runner. Mark Martin has managed to keep mum on next year’s plans although the subject of him sharing a ride with Danica Patrick seems to keep popping up. Still nothing has been announced, but a very close friend of mine has heard from a source saying that both of those teams have already been sold to a gentleman from the island of St. Thomas with lots of bank. Who knows….

Who is going to win this year’s Sprint Cup title? I think it’s wide open, but it all goes through Jimmie Johnson for sure. Personally, I hope Mr. Johnson stays just 5- time for now; I’d like to see someone new take the title.

Do you hear me Kyle “Rowdy” Busch? Maybe it will be “Happy” Harvick riding his Richmond win through the next 10 races and the championship. Possibly Junior Nation will rise out of nowhere to win. No, I can’t believe that.
