Once again, Mother Nature got her way and NASCAR was forced to move another race to Monday. The Chase is underway and Chicago was the place to be for the first Chase race of the season.
It was an up and down day for all the chasers but fuel mileage played a part in the finish as Tony Stewart had enough fuel to make it for his first win of the 2011 Season.
Thanks to fuel mileage the standings after the first race had some movers and shakers with Tony Stewart moving up seven spots with his win and is now seven points back of new leader Kevin Harvick. Dale Jr., another chaser who was looking for his first win, gets his Chase started off with a third place and a move into 5th place.
Both Kyle Busch & Jeff Gordon, victims of the fuel mileage gamble, lost 8 spots this week. Tony Stewart now heads into New Hampshire with more momentum than anyone as he not only won in Chicago, but he finished second in July at New Hampshire.
