NASCAR in Dover and Kentucky This Weekend

dover-intl-speedwayRound three of the Chase is on tap this weekend as Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series teams head to the Dover International Speedway for their final 2011 visit to the Monster Mile while the Camping World Truck Series takes its championship battle to the 1.5-mile Kentucky Motor Speedway near Sparta.

 

Tony Stewart leads the Chase after capturing back-to-back victories at Chicago and New Hampshire. Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. remains your Nationwide Series leader and Austin Dillon is now your new Camping World Truck Series leader with just a slim two point advantage over James Buescher, who is five markers ahead of third place Johnny Sauter with six races remaining.

 

The action in Dover begins Friday with Sprint Cup Series practice at 11:00 a.m. followed by the lone Nationwide practice of the weekend at 12:35 p.m. On track activity in Dover is capped with Sprint Cup Happy Hour at 2:40 p.m.

 

Truck Series drivers hit the track in Kentucky Friday evening for two practice sessions, at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. respectively.

 

Nationwide qualifying gets underway in Dover Saturday at noon followed by Sprint Cup qualifying at 1:40 p.m., live on SPEED. The One Main Financial 200 Nationwide race goes live on ESPN2 at 3:00 p.m. with the green flag set to drop around 3:30 p.m.

 

Truck Series qualifying in Kentucky is scheduled to begin at 4:15 p.m. with the Kentucky 225 live on SPEED at 7:30 p.m.

 

Sunday’s AAA 400 Sprint Cup race rolls off at 2:15 p.m. with live coverage on ESPN beginning 1:00 p.m. Driver introductions begin at 1:30 p.m. All times are eastern.
