Carl Edwards took the lead on a restart with five laps to go and held off Kyle Busch to win Friday night's Dollar General 300 Miles of Courage at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Edwards hit the wall on lap 32 sustaining right side damage to his No. 99 Ford. Falling to 27th, The current Sprint Cup point leader worked his way to the front for the first time on lap 195 of the 200-lap race.
“I hit the wall really hard and messed up the right side of the car,” Edwards said. "This is a huge win."
Trevor Bayne finished third followed by Elliott Sadler, who collected the $100,000 Dash4Cash, and Brian Scott.
Brad Keselowski led 119 laps and finished sixth.
Justin Allgeier, polesitter Paul Menard, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. and Brian Vickers completed the top 10.
