Clint Bowyer brought win number 100 to team owner Richard Childress in style at Talladega. Pushing RCR teammate Jeff Burton until the final turn Bowyer made it a race to the line and forever has a place in the heart of Childress and the legendary Chevrolet organization five races before departing for a new chapter in his career with Michael Waltrip Racing.

Stat of the Week: Jimmie Johnson has not earned a pole this season which means he has four chances to extend his streak to 10 seasons in a row.

Last Week’s Rankings can be found in parenthesis.) 1. (1) Carl Edwards – Leads the Sprint Cup Championship standings by 14 2. (2) Brad Keselowski – Only Edwards has scored more points the last nine races. 3. (3) Matt Kenseth – Sits 14 points back in the title picture but was 14 back with five races ago. 4. (7) Tony Stewart – 19 points back behind Edwards, Needs to make up five points a race to win title. 5. (5) Kevin Harvick – Been outscored by Edwards by 36 over the last five races, down 26 in the standings. 6. (4) Kyle Busch – Looks like 14 top- five’s will not be enough to capture a title this season. 7. (6) Jimmie Johnson – Will need to pass six drivers in the standings and make up 50 points to keep his streak alive. 8. (8) Jeff Gordon – His drive for five has gone flat and has been outscored by 19 other drivers the last five races. 9. (9) Kurt Busch – 52 points back and looks like his attempt at a second title will fall short. 10. (11) Kasey Kahne – Only Edwards and Kenseth have scored more points the last five races and only by two points apiece. 11. (NR) Clint Bowyer – Seventh in points the last five races and gets his first win of the year at Talladega. 12.
