Kasey Kahne stole the headlines at Phoenix after getting his first win of the year in the Red Bull Racing Toyota. With Chase contenders Carl Edwards and Tony Stewart finishing second and third Kahne earned his 12th career win and will be a threat at Homestead on Sunday.

 

Driver of Week: Kasey Kahne – Wins his first race of the year as his stint at Red Bull Racing is coming to an end.

(Rankings will be based off of who is running the best, with an emphasis on the last several races but having respect for the duration of the 36 race schedule. Last Week’s Rankings can be found in parenthesis.)
1. (1) Carl Edwards – Leads the Chase by three points going into Homestead.
2. (2) Tony Stewart – Has scored 214 points the last five races which is right at 43 points a race.
3. (3) Kevin Harvick – four wins this season but the last five races have been lackluster.
4. (8) Kasey Kahne – Has outscored every driver but the top two in points.
5. (5) Brad Keselowski – Has had a great season as he looks to hold onto fourth in the final standings.
6. (6) Jimmie Johnson – His run of championships are over as we now get to see how he will improve next season.
7. (4) Matt Kenseth – Has three victories this season but also three DNF’s
8. (9) Clint Bowyer – Only driver in the top 25 with more than four DNF’s
9. (10) Greg Biffle – Needs to find some top five speed next season.
10. (7) Jeff Gordon – A short run at Phoenix drops him further down the Power Rankings.
11. (NR) Denny Hamlin – Fourth in points scored the last five races.
12. (NR) Jeff Burton – Three out of the last four races have finished in the top 10, only four on the year.
