Considered to be the best NASCAR team without a big name driver Phoenix Racing now has Kurt Busch in the seat of the No. 51 Chevrolet for the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup season.

Busch says he pondered several offers before shaking hands with team owner James Finch late Wednesday.

"I'm very happy to join Phoenix Racing and after entertaining a lot of quality offers, there's no better place for me," Kurt Busch said in a statement. "We're going to run the full schedule together, and we're going to have fun doing it."

Finch is a committed NASCAR owner whose cars and engines are built by Hendrick Motorsports. Along with 18 dedicated team members, including general manager Steve Barkdoll and crew chief Nick Harrison, Kurt Busch may well be the missing piece of the puzzle that will take Phoenix Racing back to Victory Lane.

"All we want to do is win," said Finch. "We have excellent equipment and a hard-working group of guys who want that trophy at the end of every race. Kurt's the guy who can deliver it to them."
