The 2012 NASCAR season is upon us as the action heats up at the Daytona International Speedway with the Bud Shootout and qualifying for the Daytona 500 headlining this weekend’s activities.

Sprint Cup drivers take to the 2.5-mile high-banked track for the opening 45-minute Shootout practice at 5:00 p.m. and the final one-hour session at 6:30 p.m. Drivers will draw their Bud Shootout starting positions at 8 p.m. live on the Speed stage located outside turn four. Watch it all on SPEED.

Daytona 500 practice sessions are scheduled Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. respectively and can be seen on SPEED.

The Bud Shootout is set for an 8:00 p.m. start with live coverage on FOX.

FOX will also broadcast qualifying runs for the 2012 Daytona 500 Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
