Greg Biffle led Ford's domination of Saturday's NASCAR Sprint Cup practice sessions before Daytona 500 qualifying on Sunday afternoon at Daytona International Speedway.
Biffle clocked in at 193.395 mph in the first session with Marcos Ambrose second at 193.349 mph. Jeff Gordon, Trevor Bayne, Paul Menard, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart, Matt Kenseth, Aric Almirola and Carl Edwards rounded out the top-10.
Speeds were a little slower in the second practice session with Biffle turning a fast lap at 193.241 mph. Defending Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne followed at 193.154 with Martin Truex Jr. third, Stewart fourth and Mark Martin fifth. Sixth through 10th were Menard, Edwards, Ambrose, Gordon and A. J. Allmendinger.
"I’m just lucky I get to drive it," said Biffle. "Trust me, I’ve been down here a ton of time where you’re 23rd or 18th or whatever, so it’s nice to be near the front or at the front.”
Qualifying for the 2012 Daytona is set to begin tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. ET and will be live on FOX.
