2012 Daytona 500 Weekend Schedule

After a two-day break from the track action resumes Wednesday at Daytona International Speedway and continues each day through the weekend as 2012 Speedweeks culminates with Sunday's 54th annual Daytona 500.

 

Sprint Cup drivers take to the 2.5-mile high-banked track at noon and again at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday for two practice sessions before Thursday's all important qualifying races known as the Gatorade Duels.  Check out SPEED for live coverage.

Nationwide Series drivers practice Thursday at 9:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. before opening Truck Series practice at 12:10 p.m. The Gatorade Duels, two 150-mile qualifying races, begin at 2:00 p.m. Final Truck Series practice gets underway at 6:00 p.m.  ESPN2 begins coverage of Nationwide practice at 10 a.m. and SPEED will broadcast the Duels and Truck Series practices.

The pace picks up on Friday with Sprint Cup practices at 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. followed by Nationwide Series qualifying at 2:05 p.m. Truck Series drivers will conduct an autograph session in the Fan Zone at 2:30 p.m. prior to making their qualifying runs at 4:05 p.m.  SPEED will have Sprint Cup practice and Truck Series qualifying while Nationwide qualifying will be live on ESPN2 at 2:00 p.m.

Friday night's NextEra Energy Resources 250 Camping World Truck Series goes green shortly after 7:30 p.m. and can also be seen on SPEED.

Final practice for the 2012 Daytona 500 is scheduled for Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until noon with the DRIVE4COPD 300 Nationwide Series race set to go after a few minutes after 1:30 p.m. Watch Sprint Cup Happy Hour on SPEED and the Nationwide race on ESPN2.

Musician Lenny Kravitz will perform a pre-race concert on pit road at 12:20 p.m. just prior to the Daytona 500 getting started at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Live coverage from Daytona begins at noon on FOX.
