Kasey Kahne With Red Bull For 2011

kasey-kahneThe biggest question in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing was answered Tuesday when Red Bull Racing general manager and Kasey Kahne announced Kahne will pilot a Red Bull Toyota for 2011.

 

Kahne is scheduled to take the seat of the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet in 2012 making it a one-year deal at Red Bull.

 

“We were fortunate to have the opportunity to hire a very talented driver for the 2011 season and we took it,” said Red Bull Racing general managerJay Frye.

Jeff Gordon's Baby Son Arrives

jeff-gordonFour-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon and his wife Ingrid Vandebosch were delivered a new baby son, Leo Benjamin Gordon, at 8:53 a.m. ET Monday morning.

 

Leo weighed in at 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 19 inches long.

 

Mom and baby were doing great after the delivery.

Montoya Tastes Victory At Watkins Glen

juan-pablo-montoyaJuan Pablo Montoya has tried to find Victory Lane 113 times since his last win and Sunday afternoon the EGR driver tasted the sweet taste of victory once again, easily winning the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Watkins Glen International by 4.7 seconds over Kurt Busch.

 

"It's about time," Montoya said after scoring his second Cup Series win. "We've lost a lot of them, gave away a lot of them. It gets frustrating, everybody fighting."

 

Marcos Ambrose, Saturday's Nationwide winner at the 2.45-mile road course, finished third, followed by A.J. Allmendinger and Carl Edwards.

Carl Edwards Claims Watkins Glen Pole

carl-edwardsCarl Edwards claimed the pole position for Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Watkins Glen International after driving the 2.45-mile road course at 124.432 mph in qualifying on Saturday.

 

"This is unbelievable," said Edwards. "I can't tell you how much this helps our team and our confidence."

 

Jamie McMurray posted a lap at 123.814 mph to take the second starting spot. Juan Pablo Montoya, McMurray's teammate, starts third.
