Sprague Out Of No.2 KHI Truck
Tuesday, 07 October 2008 12:28

After two consecutive DNF's, Kevin Harvick Inc. has decided to part ways with driver Jack Sprague. Sprague joined KHI at the beginning of the season with hopes of winning races and contending for the championship, however a season of frustrations and disappointments has led to this separation.

With Sprague out of the truck, Kevin Harvick will climb behind the wheel beginning in two weeks at Martinsville. There has been no decision as of yet as to who will become the full-time driver of the No. 2 Chevrolet for the remainder of the 2008 season or heading into 2009.

"The performance of the No. 2 team was not up to either Jack or KHI's standards," Kevin Harvick explained in a team release. "My main goal now is to prepare the team to run for a championship in 2009. I am looking forward to getting behind the wheel in Martinsville. It should be a lot of fun."

Leaving Talladega, Sprague was eighth in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series standings with five top-5s, nine top-10s and one pole position.
