Newman To Race KHI’s No. 4 Truck At LMS

ryan-newmanRyan Newman will get behind the wheel of Kevin Harvick Inc.’s No. 4 Chevrolet Silverado for his second Camping World Truck Series start this Friday. The No. 4 has been driven by rookie Ricky Carmichael since the start of the 2009 season and Carmichael is scheduled to strap in again at Texas Motor Speedway on June 5th.

In his first Truck Series start last October, Newman drove a KHI truck to victory lane in Atlanta and he hopes to remain undefeated by taking the checkered flag again this weekend.

“Winning the race last year in Atlanta in my first and only truck start was pretty cool,” Newman said. “There is definitely some tough competition in the truck series. Throw in the fact that we are racing at Charlotte and I think the competition just got tougher. Everyone has an added desire to win. This is everybody’s backyard, everybody’s home track. I would love to come out of Charlotte on top.”

kevin-delana-harvickNewman will not be the only returning member of the KHI team this weekend; chassis No. 014, the chassis he won with last October, will be returning with him. Chassis No. 014 has not hit the pavement yet this year but it has a decorated history with two wins in the past two seasons.

“Kevin and DeLana Harvick have given me a great opportunity to compete in their truck again,” Newman said. “I know that I have great equipment, and I am really looking forward to having a good showing for them on Friday night.”

With his winning chassis and his undefeated status, Newman is ready to get back to the exciting, rough-and-tumble Truck Series.

“It (the Truck Series) is great racing. I’ve heard people describe it as racing the way it used to be; beating and banging and a lot of door-to-door racing. It’s just a lot of fun.”
